This hydraulic trencher (STK Mini track trencher) is great for most sized jobs, being fully fitted with a hydraulically driven track system, allowing the machine to drive over rough terrain. It has a compact/ light frame that allows it to be trailer mounted and transported by any tow ball fitted vehicle and operates off of an electric key start system, eliminating any back-breaking pull cords.

FAQ

Q1.Can a trencher cut through roots?

A. While a hydraulic trencher is not designed to specifically cut through tree roots, the power of the trenching chains hydraulic drive allows it to cut through small-medium roots, however, any medium-large sized roots (15mm+ sized) are not recommended for use with one of these machines.

Q2. How much does a hydraulic trencher cost to rent/hire?

A. While the price of a trenching machine is dependent on the amount of time hired, and the overall size/ quality of the machine, a standard rental charge for a 1-day hire is likely to be between $150- $350 (AUD), and the weekly hire charge between $500- $700 (AUD).

Q3. How wide will a trencher dig?

A. The digging width of a trencher is dependent on the size of the machine rented, general size will range in 25-50mm increments, going from 75mm up to 200mm+, with larger/ more powerful trenching machines being able to dig larger holes.

Q4. What is the easiest way to dig a trench?

A. The easiest way to dig a trench (without breaking your back with a pick-axe) is to rent/ use a hydraulically driven trenching machine, capable of self-driving over rough terrain, and able to hydraulically lower and raise its hydraulic digging chain through soft or compact soil.
